What is Sovren
Sovren is a Cosmos SDK Layer 1 with 10 first-party modules. One settlement primitive. One slash primitive. Operators are issued SOVR for verified work: shards stored, bytes forwarded, tokens generated, queries served. Not synthetic mining.
Clients buy what they use. Operators earn attestation share + per-voucher revenue. Built on CometBFT BFT with IBC + Arbitrum bridge, gradient decay emission, and a forfeit-and-re-emit loop.
*SOVR is used to log participation and settle activity. Issuance follows protocol rules, is based on verified work, and is not guaranteed. Not an investment.
Sovren doesn't host every app. It's the rail apps use to measure and settle real work. x/storage, x/gateway, x/bandwidth, x/inference, x/vectordb all use one payment primitive and one slash primitive. Adding a market = new voucher domain. Not a new payment rail.

Operators are issued SOVR on signed proof of real service delivered: shards stored, bytes forwarded, tokens generated, queries served. Not on CPU metrics. Attestation turns receipts for delivered work into operator reward weight. No synthetic mining.
Why this matters: No mining. No guessing. Your node does real work, creates cryptographic proof, gets verified by consensus, and the protocol issues SOVR to log your contribution. Four steps. Fully auditable.
Sovren uses two separate tokens because security and billing have different jobs.
Security + Store-of-Value
Utility + Micropayments
Why two tokens? Separating them means activity can be priced in IOPT without coupling every micropayment to SOVR's market price. Security stays stable. Billing stays flexible.
Early blockchains died when inflation ended. Sovren transitions from bootstrap to real revenue.
The forfeit loop: Bad actors get slashed. Slashed SOVR goes to the forfeit pool. The pool re-emits to good operators over ~365 days. Long-term honesty pays more than short-term cheating.
Sovren combines battle-tested consensus with new settlement primitives. No science experiments in production.
| Layer | Component | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Consensus | CometBFT (Tendermint) BFT | Tolerates up to 1/3 Byzantine voting power |
| Chain Framework | Cosmos SDK v0.53 | Used by major chains in production (Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Binance Chain, etc.) |
| Cross-Chain | IBC-Go v10 + Arbitrum Bridge | SOVR not an island. Lock-and-mint to Ethereum L2 |
| Smart Contracts | CosmWasm Enabled | Optional per-module opt-in for extensions |
| Gas Denomination | usovr (1 SOVR = 1,000,000 usovr) | Predictable fee model for validators |
| Address Format | Bech32 sovr1... | Standard Cosmos format. sovrvaloper1... for validators |
+ x/policy, x/bandwidth, x/inference, x/vectordb. Each shares one settlement primitive.
Running a Sovren node means you verify real work and submit signed attestations. You're not mining. You're auditing.
REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE
Purchase license in IOPT. Grants right to operate and submit attestations. Non-transferable while active.
SKIN IN THE GAME
Minimum SOVR stake required. Subject to slashing for invalid attestations. Withdrawals have unbonding period.
RUN WORKLOADS
Storage, bandwidth, GPU, or verification node. Specs vary by module. No ASICs required.
Your node performs or verifies real work: store shards, forward bytes, generate tokens, serve queries.
Work creates a domain-separated signed receipt. You submit it to x/attestation.
Attestation aggregates receipts. Your share of verified weight determines SOVR issuance.
Clients pay you directly in IOPT via vouchers for services. SOVR issuance is separate.
Running a node requires technical setup and ongoing participation. Review requirements first.

Sovren is infrastructure, not an investment. These answers reflect the whitepaper and SEC guidance.
No. SOVR is a store-of-value and security asset used to operate and secure the network.
It is used for: staking to validators, governance voting, paying network gas, and bridging to Arbitrum as ERC-20.
Holding SOVR does not guarantee any return. Issuance is based on verified work submitted to x/attestation and follows protocol rules. There is no promise of profit from the efforts of others.
Three differences:
You stop receiving issuance. Staked SOVR enters an unbonding period before you can withdraw.
If you were slashed for invalid attestations, that SOVR goes to the forfeit pool and is re-emitted to honest operators over ~365 days.
There is no penalty for stopping. You just don't get issued SOVR for work you didn't do.
Sovren is designed to function without reliance on the efforts of others. Operators run their own nodes and submit their own work.
SOVR is used to log participation and settle activity. IOPT is used to pay for network services. Neither is marketed with an expectation of profit.

Yes. Risks include:
This is not passive. You must operate infrastructure. Review the Node Operator Agreement and full risk disclosure at svrnblockchain.com before participating.
SOVR is issued by the protocol to operators for verified work. It can also be acquired on secondary markets where listed.
IOPT is used for utility payments inside the network. It is not intended for trading.
We do not operate exchanges. We do not provide investment advice. Check listing trackers or bridge from Arbitrum for SOVR availability.
